Time 4 Tea


 syrup cookies
(makes 24)
You will need:                                      
350g plain flour
100g self raising flour
125g granulated sugar
125g salted & diced butter
125g golden syrup 
1 large lightly beaten egg
                                      
  1. set oven to 240 degrees.
  2. Sift both of the flours and the sugar together, mix well.
  3. add the butter using your finger tips rub together the ingredients until the look like fine bread crumbs.
  4. When all the butter is completely mixed in, make a well (dip) in the center  and add the egg and the syrup in to the mix.
  5. Mix well, drawing in any of the flour left at the sides of the bowl and STOP as soon as it has been formed in to a ball, NO DOUGH LIKES TO BE TOUCHED TO MUCH IT DRAWS MOISTER OUT OF THE DOUGH!!!!
  6. Place dough onto your CLEAN work area. Divide in to two even pieces and squash the dough into evenly sized discs. Cover and chill or roll out immediately.
  7. Use cookie cutters to shape.
  8. finally, place the cookies on to a greased baking tray and stick into the oven for 15-20 minutes.
And now eat your freshly baked treats!!!
